Scientific name: Pteris ensiformis
Sold in a 14cm plastic nursery pot.
Light: These plants do best in bright, indirect light. Distilled light is especially important in the warmer summer months when the plant is actively growing. Avoid harsh direct rays, especially mid-day, which can singe or burn the leaves.
Water: Water the plants lightly once a week if not kept in a terrarium. Mist frequently to increase humidity above 50%. These plants do best in the tropical conditions of a terrarium
Fertilizer: Ferns are light feeders and too much fertilizer may damage the plant. Use a regular houseplant fertilizer sparingly, using a solution diluted to half strength, or use an organic fish emulsion fertilizer, with a ratio of about 3-1-2 or 2-1-2
Please note that these plants require regular watering. For this reason we only dispatch these orders on a Monday and Tuesday (to areas outside of Cape Town) so that the plants do not risk spending the weekend at the courier depot.
